50. A BETA'S COMMAND PART I
My body shook, shook so much I brought my hand up over my mouth to hold the sob. It was hard, threatening to break me apart and I would not let that happen. The next tears dropped down, feeling them burn my skin before blinking everything back. I swallowed all the hurt, pushed down all the pain and just kept blinking it all back. The tears were wiped away, my body turning with my head held high. My lips were quivering and I bit them because I felt as if they would drop to the floor. My footsteps were slow, trying to find the courage to speak, trying to find the courage to face the woman who had just heard it all unfold. I wondered how gullible I looked to her. My hand pushed on the door, wanting to bow my head in shame but I would not be a coward. A smile was forced on my face, feeling like a monster about to murder a whole village. The door swung with me stepping in. My eyes wen

51. A BETA'S COMMAND PART II
The music filled the whole house. Traditional songs were played as the sun went over the horizon. Everyone was happy in the pack, all talking about the whole event and how great it was. I took pleasure in it, a soft smile gracing my face. “Luna, you are late, aren’t you supposed to attend the ball?” One of the ladies asked, pulling me from the dishes I was washing. My heart clenched with me swallowing. The whole kitchen froze from her words, all of them giving her looks leaving her perplexed. “No Grensy. I am not attending the ball.” I said back, the kitchen even quieter if that was possible. The tension was too much. The food was all taken out, all eating in the dining room. “Luna, can we go eat in the dining room with the pack?” Grensy asked with me smiling at her. “Of course, go enjoy, you have done so much already, please, go eat.” I said smiling at them.

52. TWO ROYALS, ONE LUNA
I had never felt so cold, I had never felt so out of touch with my environment. Each step I took left my body quivering as if it would shutter. I could barely see where I was going, all I saw was my breath being pushed out of my mouth harshly, with the sound gracing my ears unwelcomed. I felt the sweat fight to break out and the only reason I was still standing being Brum himself. I clung to him like a baby clings to its mother, begging to be freed of some discomfort. I clung to him as if he was mine to hold and squeeze but forgive me, I was in chaos threatening to engulf me. A part of me wanted to turn and run away. I could just see it in my head and somehow it was in slow motion. I could see the dress float as I turned and flew away to the confines of my room. Fear poisoned my blood, it poisoned my legs to shake as if to snap and the louder the dancing tune was, the more my sanity was tested.

53. FEELING SCARED PART I
“Take my hand.” The king whispered to me after we had both calmed down. I could do anything he said to me and I did just that. I took the hand he held out for me and he held it firmly as if to protect me of anything that might come my way. His eyes held mine for a second longer before closing again, taking a whiff of me and pulling back. If only he knew how crazy that made me, him needing my scent, pulling it in and how golden his eyes shone after opening them. It is like I drove him insane and healed him at the same time. What I would do to get my hands on his thoughts and see how his mind worked. He turned with me and I took a deep breath before turning beside him and facing our people. After stepping foot in there and dancing with both royals it was then I finally saw the people filling the ballroom. The first woman my eyes lay on in that room was Luna River. She came from the stronges

54. FEELING SCARED PART II
“You speak of war; would you even be able to even defend yourself in a simple attack.?” A question came from Alpha Moonseeker. My head snapped to him, hearing the mockery in the question. “I actually do Alpha Moonseeker. I taught myself how to fight from a young age and since I have been here, the royal beta had been kind enough to teach me and polish my skill. So, I assure you alpha, I can protect myself and my pack.” I said back to them with some snickering, not believing. Women in most packs did not train and I hated it. “I am looking forward to seeing you in the meeting tomorrow, Luna Raven.” Alpha Rivers finally said, his head bowing to rise, eyes still staring at me with a smirk that could bring nothing good. “I am looking forward to it too Alpha.” I said back, a tight smile on my face. He turned, his luna doing a bow too then turned to walk away.

55. EVERYTHING IS NOT AS IT SEEMS PART I
The silence was all we needed as both of us were trapped in our heads, trying to find a way out of a situation that provided no escape. The king’s arms were around my waist, mine around his shoulders, resting my face on his and just sitting there as if the world did not exist all around us, as if it was just us in that castle. My eyes were closed, the sound of his steadily beating heart my new addiction for it kept the smile on my face even in such a dire situation we were in. My hands brushed up and down, listening and thinking he was asleep now and again only for him to flake his eyes open and stare at me. I would smile brighter for him before shifting even closer if that was possible and close my eyes again as he closed his.Feet pat up the steps only to stop. I did not know who it was, my back from them. The king did not even shift, he just sat as he was with the person debating on what to do before they turned back and ran down the steps.

56. EVERYTHING IS NOT AS IT SEEMS PART II
Getting to the kitchen, I took all I would need for breakfast, especially that which needed to be defrosted. When it was all out I took everything I would need for baking and just as I was about to start mixing, the kitchen door opened.   My head picked up, frowning in wonder of who it might be only to find Brum there.   He got in, closing the door behind him to turn and walk towards one of the chairs.   To say I was shocked was the least. He placed all his paperwork down and got into it with no word said. The smile on my face was just too bright, loving the poor soul more and more each day if that was even possible because it seemed there was no limit to loving him.   I began mixing my dry ingredients followed by the wet while my mind took me to a place I did not want to go.   What would life with Brum be like?   I loved him yes but as a brother. Would I be

57. THE CHANGE OF THINGS
I bent on the floor, Brum on all fours, wiping the floor dry with a cloth in hand. The kitchen had fell into utter silence from the second the king closed the door and we had both went our different ways, cleaning different parts of the kitchen. My mind was everywhere but nowhere, swallowing. Brum’s head tipped up, his eyes falling on mine as I settled on all fours too. I sighed, staring into his grey eyes. “I think I love him, beyond the mate bond.” I spoke out the words with Brum still staring at me blankly, not reading what he was thinking, what the words had him think. He finally blinked after some time, turning and sitting on the floor, cleaning cloth in hand. I did the same, sitting next to him, the floor cold, the silence nearly deafening with my hands shaking, not even sure why they were slightly shaking. I bit my lip to let go of it. “I want to pu

58. AN EYE FOR AN EYE
As soon as the doors opened, all in that room stood up on their feet, their knees hitting the floor as they bowed to the king.   The king stepped forward, walking ahead and he looked like a God. Each step he took was as if he was walking into heaven. He was a man that carried himself with such pride and dignity. I felt compelled to bow to him and worship him. I watched his back flex, the muscles showing even under the shirt. I was sure that there was none other like him.   I was so short compared to him, walking behind, the height difference very apparent. Brum was next to me, him large too.   I could not see ahead; my line of sight obstructed by a heavenly king that I wanted to love so much but it was surely out of the question.   He walked to his chair, suddenly exposed with him not there. My eyes lay on the large circular table I had cleaned just a few hours ago.  But what was not there befor

59. REJECTED REQUEST
The king’s mistress fell on her knees, weeping her heart out, crawling and begging. My head snapped from the man who seemed to want to have my head, to the king’s mistress then to the king. What the hell was happening? I was too tired for all that was happening, needing to sit down. My hand went to my forehead, rubbing it with all the commotion that was happening. What eye did the man want, what eye? “Please Alpha Bush, please, please I am sorry.” The king’s mistress was weeping, the floor wet with her tears. It was so much I felt my own chest sore, feeling as if my heart was breaking at how broken she was. Alpha Bush turned, staring at her with his whole body shaking, pointing a finger to her seeming not able to talk with his eyes red. I thought he would change again. The betrayal and hurt was written all over his face, wanting to cry myself at seei
