CHAPTER 61
The week seemed to pass by in a blur, it felt like my life was caught in a constant time loop. All I did was eat, sleep, tweet, and repeat, I wasn't doing anything productive. It was Friday today, Shayna’s birthday. I had wished her earlier in the day, I sent her a text message and also a voice note of me singing happy birthday to her. We were going to a newly opened club to celebrate her birthday, Club Uno. Which was fitting since her birthday fell on a Friday, and she rarely misses going to the club on Fridays. She sent a message informing me to come to her place before 8 p.m. so we could dress up and leave for the club from there. I’ve not been to a club since I quit working as a strip dancer so I was really excited that I was finally leaving the house to have a little fun and not for any boring event. I have missed the loud beat and the euphoria of the club and let’s not forget free drinks.I got a small bag and placed my shoes, bag, the outfit I’ll be wearing to the club, and a

CHAPTER 62
My head was pounding. I slowly regained consciousness and was immediately hit with an intensified pounding of my skull, my head was throbbing and It felt as though it was being hammered down continuously in multiple spots. I took in my surroundings, the room felt unfamiliar. I started to wonder where I was as I don’t recollect getting into bed.Shit!Did I follow a stranger home?My eyes remained closed in an attempt to recall all the details of the night before. It was an ineffective attempt to say the least, trying to think about anything proved to be very difficult as I couldn't go past the symphony of pain that flooded my skull. I groaned out loudly as all questions flooded my head, did Shayna and May bring me back? Where were they? I couldn’t remember anything. Did I fall asleep in the car?I opened my eyes again and this time I was hit by the bright glazing rays of the sun shining intensely through the window, the intensity of the sun coming through the blinds dominated the room

CHPATER 63
After a long phone conversation with Shayna and May, I made my way up to sleep in my room. It was 12:30 a.m. when I woke up. William and Mathew had retired to bed at the time, so I made my way into the kitchen for a light dinner.I don’t even remember seeing Mathew all through the day. After having dinner, I brushed my teeth and changed into my nightwear before making my way up to William’s room. William was already asleep when I walked into his room. I shut the door behind me quietly and made my way to my side of the bed.I placed my phone face down on the bedside table going under the duvet to lie down on my back, I stared at the patterned ceiling with a mixture of boredom and annoyance because I was struggling with falling back asleep.Disadvantages of sleeping during the day.My phone starts vibrating on the table taking my attention away from the ceiling I was staring at. I reach out to the phone and pick it up, glancing at the caller ID, a smile graces my face.Shayna was callin

CHAPTER 64
Aurora and Eloise made me feel welcome. We talked a lot and were able to connect easily, it was fun enjoying something that came out of my new temporary life.We spent the day outside sipping champagne, playing in the water, and eating good food. I can't lie, it felt wonderful to be living this lifestyle, wining and dining with the wealthy ones even if it was only going to be for two years.I left Aurora's house late in the evening to avoid crossing paths with William in the house. I certainly did not want another round of belittlement from him—If I could turn the hands of time, I doubt I would have accepted his offer.I suppose William has a problem because I don't think it’s that hard to spend the two years cordially. I wish Matthew would leave soon, don't get me wrong, I adored William's father. I enjoy having him around but I couldn’t wait to get back to sleeping in my room full time so I could go back to not seeing William daily and also avoid stepping on his toes.Monday, 4:30 p

CHAPTER 65
I guess no movie for me today then.I know it’s wrong of me to think that as I stared down at his body on the floor. Was it also insensitive of me to wish he’d fallen on the bed instead because I didn’t know how I was going to pick him up? I bent down, kneeling beside him to ensure he didn’t crack his skull first before trying to get him up which was very hard with all the muscles he had, he was like twice or thrice my weight. It was a struggle but I managed to lift him up carefully and pulled him to the bed. I placed him in a comfortable position on the bed and rested his head on a pillow. I sat back to try catching my breath as I panted heavily, lifting him off the floor was indeed a workout. I’ve never been to a gym but I might need to start going to one.Back to the matter at hand, I needed to get a doctor, Agathat should definitely know one.I ran out of my room, running down the stairs as fast as I could to get Agatha. I opened the kitchen and was met with an empty space.Shit!

CHAPTER 66
8:21 p.mAfter Matthew left with the doctor, I strolled into the kitchen with a mission to prepare dinner for everyone. I knew it was going to be quite difficult to get William to eat something prepared by me as he never hides how he feels about me, and he made it pretty clear the last time that he didn't want me doing anything for him. Whereas sharing meals with Mathew has always been a delightful experience, speaking about Matthew, it's been a while since we have done something fun. “Bailey” Mathew said as he entered the kitchen. “I have been looking all over for you, what are you doing?” He asked,“I wasn’t sure if you or William had anything to eat at the office so I decided to make dinner for all three of us.” “Thank you, Bailey, that’s so thoughtful of you, I have some work to do, I’ll be in the living room if you need me, call me when you are done cooking.”After having dinner with Mathew in the dining room, I walked up to my room to take a quick shower. I brushed my teeth f

CHAPTER 67
6:30 amThe sun had not risen when I woke up, I woke up earlier than William or Matthew. I don’t remember the last time I had woken up this early, I knew Willam was going to be furious when he found out about it but I did not care. I guess I am abnormal because a normal person would not think of taking care of him with the way he has treated me since I met him. But everyone deserves a second chance and he had also cared for me when I was sick even if he claimed he was doing it for his dad. A spade is still a spade.I tip-toed out of his room to my room so he wouldn’t stir up due to my noise. I did all my necessities before heading to the place where he hung all the keys to his cars. I removed all of them and hid them under my bed before tip-toeing back to his room. I closed my eyes and said a silent prayer as I silently opened the drawer where he kept his work laptop. I carried it to my room and hid it under my bed.All the back and forth made me thirsty so I walked briskly into the k

I have angered the devil, did I really have to open my big mouth to defy him?“What did you just say?” He asks again, making direct eye contact with me. He glared at me, daring me to repeat it. I was squirming so hard at this point, No wonder he was known as a ruthless billionaire, that glare was so brutal it would terrify even the bravest of men.Holding onto the sides of my clothes with my right hand. “I said no,” I say, trying to seem strong. I have mustered up all my courage to stand my ground and face him. On the surface, It might look like I wasn’t scared but deep down Heaven knows terrified was an understatement for how I truly felt. “And I won’t be returning either your laptop or your keys, you don’t scare me.”Lies! Lies!!He scares me but he doesn’t need to know that, I’m trying to prove a point.William looked so angry, his face was flushed red, his veins thumping hard on his temples, and his gaze on me was intense. “Who do you think you are to disobey my orders?” he demand

I strolled to the floor above and pushed the door to the library open. The natural rays of the sun flowed through from the windows giving the library its usual ethereal and cozy feel. I picked up the book I had been reading for the past three days. It was getting difficult to complete the book due to all the ruckus of the past few days. Lowering myself to the soft cushioned seat, I folded my legs beneath me and turned the pages of the books to where I had left off, allowing myself to get absorbed in the plot of the novel. I delved into my world of imagination to forget the reality that came in place of William. An hour in, my phone buzzed lightly in my pocket, I sat up a bit to remove it before sliding accept on the screen.“Thank God you’re alive,” Shayna says from the other end dramatically.I chuckle lightly. "What the hell does that mean Shayna, we talked when? Yesterday?”“Yeah and I texted you three times after that, no reply, I thought maybe you were dead or something like that

CHAPTER 70
For someone who owns a multi-millionaire company and acts so mighty, cold, and rude, he sure was extremely petty and exceptionally annoying. My phone rang for the fifth time beside me and I was tempted not to answer it because I knew it was going to be another insignificant and annoying request that he had for me. I stared at the phone as it vibrated on the sofa, I rolled my eyes before picking it up swing accept reluctantly, placing the one on my ear“What” I yelled, “just what do you need this time?” I screamed annoyed into the phone.“Come to my room.” He ordered again as he has been doing for the past other calls. I stood up from my comfortable spot making peace with the fact I was never gonna finish this novel.“Get me a bottle of Pinot Noir and a glass from my bar.” He orders as I stare at him with my arms folded.“You could have said that on the phone and I wouldn’t have had to make the trip twice.”“Yeah, I could have.” He says in a mocking tone as he lazily crosses his leg on
