A Case Without Any Lead
Notice: This chapter will be in Diana’s point view. I am excited to share Diana’s view on her case. Diana’s POV This is the first case I've ever dealt with that has no systematic arrangement. Everything seems confusing, moving from one story to another. I can't wrap my head around this one. Not only is the family famous and dangerous, but Eric's connection to them makes it even harder to crack this case. I sat in my office all night, trying to find a way to avoid being stuck on one case forever. If I piece together all the information we have, it only leads to a dead end. Despite Mr. Lawrence's confession, I can't see where the case is going. The prime suspect is no longer a suspect. Damn it, I'm dying here. A knock on the door interrupted my messy thoughts. "Diana, can I come in?" Jasmine asked. I granted her permission to enter. "You don't seem okay," she said, worried. "Well, I'm not," I admitted. She didn’t let me finish before she started blabbing. "O

The Sudden Call
Phoebe’s POV “How did you get my number?” He laughed out loud. I couldn’t figure out if he was an imposter, a helper, or a distraction. But he sounded confident and was confusing. “Don’t you think that is the less important thing you should be asking?” he said. “It’s important to me. You could be a fraudster, and I can’t deal with that.” He chuckled. “You are as hard-headed as I thought.” “Tell me why you came to me and not Diana? She is the one handling the case. I want a definite answer if you want me to listen to you.” “Because I see more potential in you than Diana. She may be a lawyer, but she is a softie.” His tone was calm but harsh. There was no doubt in my mind that he is one of the men who look down on women in power. I chuckled. “Let’s meet up,” he said. “I hardly know anything about New York. I can’t meet you anywhere,” I said to him. “Don’t worry about that. You tell me your location, and I will have my men pick you up.” Men? I said to mysel

My Brother, My Enemy Part 1
NOTICE: Mild sexual content… read with caution. Eric’s POV I knew Phoebe was hiding something from me. I knew exactly where she was. She met up with someone behind my back. I wondered why she hid it from me. What she being threatened? I wondered. But I had my doubts. It was impossible to for her to be threatened. She may look weak to the others but she was on a whole new level when she is angered. We need as we were told. Diana ordered us to stay low. It was pointless to do anything anyways. The key suspect was no longer the suspect. The case was all messed up. And now Phoebe was hiding something from me. A knock on the door , interrupted my thoughts. “Hey” Phoebe entered. “You look tired and distracted,” she observed. I sighed. I wanted to question her from keeping things from me, but it would make it worse. She would find out I was keeping an eye on her and have imprinted a tracker on her wrist watch. She was quite smart,in order to prevent that from happening.

My Brother,My Enemy Part 2
Phoebe’s POV I was a little harsh. Why can’t I control this little mouth of mine? I left his office in a rush because I felt so guilty; I couldn’t look him in the eyes. He must have doubts about my feelings for him. Since we got back from New York, I hardly had time to talk to him. A week had passed since I met up with George De-Royal. I went to him because I wanted some advice on what to do with the information I had gotten. Diana and her team were still in New York, probably looking for more evidence or suspects for the case. Anthony was asked to rent a new apartment. But he decided to stay in his new house he purchased not long ago. On my way to my desk, I ran into Andrew. I sighed and passed by him. “Miss Meyers!” he called. “Yes, Andrew,” “Are you okay? You seemed a little distracted,” “It’s nothing to be worried about,” We had the attention of the other employees, so I had to hurry back to my desk. I smiled at him and asked to leave, but he stopped me

My Brother, My Enemy Part 3
Phoebe’s POV The call was short and precise. I didn’t expect him to agree to meet up. I knew he was a busy man. Moreover I asked him to meet me up. I did my research. He had a two-day meeting with some of his partners in Singapore. Since luck was on my side, I decided to use it to my advantage. If he really was behind the death of Kane, it would be the best time to catch him before he leaves for New York. Phoebe managed to get Cloud De-royal to meet her up. But her decision was unplanned. She kept wondering if it would come out fruitful or fruitless. Meanwhile, George De-royal, had confirmed his suspicions about Phoebe. He had already had someone look into Phoebe. Phoebe was no longer on his side or she never was. He met up with his two brothers. The youngest brother was still in high school, and the brother after him, and first son of his mother and his stepfather had just graduated from college. They waited for him in his house and made themselves comfor

My Brother, My Enemy Part 4
Phoebe’s POV An hour before the meeting.. I missed my dear friends. It’s quite a while since I had a chat with them. They would scream hell on me if I reveal to them I was solving a murder case. Since I lost most of my contacts. I had to call Jon to help me with that. I finally got to hear their voices. I had to put them on loud speaker. “Cat!! “Phoebe, I missed you more than anything ?” “me too” Ella whispered. “You better be,” I teased. “It’s been a while” Ella said. “Yeah it has” I responded. “You should have called earlier, why wait this long for us to miss you this much,” Cassie nagged. I laughed it out. “Well I wasn’t in Singapore, we went to New York City, for a case,” “Case?” Ella exclaimed. “Yeah” I revealed everything to them. They were stunned by it. I took the insults and the scolding with an open heart. Cat kept yelling on the me. I knew she was loud but sometimes I get stunned at how a human can yell with every cell in her body. I

Phoebe’s POV: There were so many things to consider if I were to take his side. He was confident and proud, never letting his guard down. “So you knew of his attack?” “Attack!?” “He came to me with the evidence, as I said earlier. This evidence is enough to ruin you, as I said before. You have the evidence before you. How can I be sure you are not the one in these pictures?” He became silent for a moment. “So, this explains why my dear sister thinks I am into such illicit behavior.” “Huh!” I exclaimed. “Do I look like one to you?” He asked. I raised an eyebrow. “It’s not written on any man’s face that he is gay?” Hahahaha!! His laughter gave me chills. “Well, that is true,” he said as he wiped a tear from his eye. “Perhaps this situation is funny to you?” I asked, a little upset. He smiled. “He is my step-brother, not related by blood. George is an angry bastard who doesn’t know his place. The same with his brothers. I care less about what they do, think, or say about me

Inheritance Part 1
Eric’s POV I couldn’t believe she broke her promise to me. I knew who she met up with, but still, I expected her to tell me. I didn’t really care who she had to meet. I knew she wouldn’t cheat on me whatsoever, but every time she wasn’t close, my anxieties rose up. I couldn’t sleep for fear of her disappearing on me. That thought kept me up all night. I never agreed for her to move out, but Phoebe was very independent. She hated the idea of not being able to do things her own way. Surprisingly, I found it attractive. Honestly, I believed she would have told me everything if she had remembered in the first place. So forgetful... When Andrew told me who she had gone to meet, I was startled for a moment. After Andrew helped me out with putting a GPS in the wristwatch I gave Phoebe, a few days later, he came out to me opposing it. I had assured him I would take it out, but I didn’t. And now he has no idea of the GPS being in the wristwatch. He would probably scold me like

Inheritance Part 2
Phoebe’s POV This man never ceases to amaze me. He could tell right away that he was being listened to. Diana signaled for me to deny it. I was sure he wouldn’t believe me. But I couldn’t just let him have his way. If only he had been patient with me and called earlier today, things might have been much better than they are now. I looked up at her. I hated doing things that weren’t in my interest. I sighed. “Why are you quiet? It only confirms the psychopath is with you.” “What if he is?” That wasn’t what Diana wanted me to say. I couldn’t dare look up anymore. I might be hit by a thunderstorm if I did. “That’s good, then he should know I would find him and kick his butt for not keeping his promise,” he threatened. “I told you, he has no idea I met up with you, Cloud. If he did, he would probably be the one calling you.” He suddenly became quiet. “Fuck!” he cursed. He bought into my lie. It was bound to happen anyway. “Why do you want to meet up?” “Do you need

Inheritance Part 3
Eric’s POV: I wasn’t upset, or anything of that sort. Well, maybe a little. I won’t deny I liked the idea of them pressuring Phoebe. She shouldn’t have hidden it from me in the first place, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I had to defend her, until the call came in. Cloud knew no shame. It was as if he wanted to come between us. His ridiculous demands were just appalling. He knew I was with Phoebe and needed my attention. It was quite surprising at the beginning, but I caught up as soon as he suggested to Phoebe that they should meet up. We hid ourselves to give them some privacy, but knowing Cloud, he would definitely find something fishy about the hideout. Just as I predicted, he knew I was watching him, and so was he. “I dare you to touch her,” I commanded his bodyguards. He chuckled. He hadn’t changed. Just one look at his smirked face, and memories I had once forgotten came to mind. I remembered his hatred for me and my family. I was so sure he was happ
