Chapter 3

"Riley wait up" i hear Ashley call from behind me. I slowly turn around to face her. "Can we talke" I nod in response and we continue to walk out towards the courtyard.

"What is it Ashley" i say already knowing what she wanted. We sat under one of the few trees in courtyard. For late September it was oddly warm out.

"I know how you feel about Logan and I know its breaking his heart. All he ever wanted was to find his mate and now that he did, he is starting to change for the better" she says. "Riley I know Logan hasnt always been nice to you. But please know he would never hurt you. The way you are acting towards him is breaking his heart".

"Ashley im just to scared of him. He has done some really awfull things to me and i dont know if i can just forget that.We arent even in the same pack, hell our packs hate eachother" i say just above a whisper.

"Riley Logan needs you! He is going to have to take over our pack at a younger age then most. Our father is unwell he does not have much time left. Logan and betta Blake have been having to make all of the decisions for our pack as of late" she said i could hear she was trying not to cry.

"I will try Ashley, but i am not going to make any promises. It will just take some time. I am sorry your father is unwell, I will keep him in my thoughts" i say reaching to hold her hand. Logan and Ashley just turned 18 a few weeks ago and i know in my heart that Logan is not ready to take over his pack. "Can you go get Logan or mindlink him to meet us here. I think we should talk"

"Of course" i can tell by the look in her eyes that she was mindlinking him. "He is on his way. Thank you for talking with me Riley" she says standing and walking out of the courtyard.

I sit here wondering if my father knew the current situation with the battlefang alpha. That is something i am going to have to share with him when i get home.

"Riley" i hear Logan say. He startled me, I was lost in my thoughts so much i didnt see him walk up.

"Logan" i say as he sits next to me. "I figured we needed to talk." i take a deep breath. "Logan i dont know if this is going to work between us. How you have treated me in the past is kind of hard to forgett. I know you are under alot of pressure right now. Ashley told me about your father and im deeply sorry. But do you really thing we could ever be mates" 

"Riley I know in the past i was a huge jerk to you and that was not fair. I want to get to know you better, i will protect you with my life. I would give you the world and you dont even want to give me a chance. WE are mates and my cureent title is being questioned because my father isnt going to be around to train me. My pack is going to need there luna once my father passes. I will need my Luna" he says trying to hide a sob that was fighting to slip out of his lips.

"I will try Logan but i cant promise you anything you hurt me" I say the mate bond is pulling me towards him. I am trying to stop the urge to pull him into a hug. But he beats me to it, he pulls me into his lap rocking me back and fourth. I can feel myself instantly relax. It felt like i was where i belonged. Wrapped in my mates arms.
