Chapter Forty Four

ASHER'S POV:

I had no idea if it was the music, or the joy of seeing the members of my pack gathered together in such harmony, or if it was the sudden news of Elysia's pregnancy and the joy of having an heir soon. But I was exceptionally happy, and it was very easy to see the joy plastered on my face.

I could not believe that after so many attempts, I was finally going to put an end to the curse for good.

That night, I had so much fun with no worries like I had not done for quite a long time, I even helped myself to a large quantity of drinks.

I was so carried away with excitement that I completely forgot about Elysia's presence at the party, not until Nikolai walked up to me to enquire about her, only then did I realize that I had not really paid attention to her ever since we came here.

"She should be somewhere around..." I said enthusiastically, pointing at the place she had been sitting before I left her, but I froze halfway when I was met with an empty seat and table.
