Chapter Forty One

ASHER'S POV:

I had no idea if it was the awkwardness from the previous day or not, I just found that I was unable to face her the next day. My whole being wanted to avoid and not make any contact with her all through the day so I stayed back in my room.

After spending several hours of the day in my room, I decided I was feeling uncomfortable and a bit suffocated staying in one place for too long, so I decided to go out to the terrace and receive some air, while actively hoping that it would not be one of the days Elysia would suddenly show up here for whatever reason.

Even though I was trying to avoid her, I had been thinking about her all day, and I exactly had no idea why. Perhaps I missed her.

My thoughts were interrupted when I heard footsteps behind me, I didn't need to look back to know who it was since I could recognize Nikolai's footsteps even in the middle of the night. His shoulder slightly brushed mine as he came to stand beside me, and I felt he did that on purpose.
