CHAPTER 21

Varya’s POV

How I lived the past few days with all the drama around me is a dream to me. Between Kylo’s girlfriend Dora, who was constantly breathing down my neck, and Tia, who showed hostility to me at work on a daily basis.

I felt as if I was on the verge of a cliff. It had become tedious for me to learn something new every day and then deal with it. They were huge blocks to me.

I was surprised to notice that when I reported to the office that morning, everyone was quiet and gave me eye contact only occasionally.

It wasn’t the first time to have gossip thrown at me—my marriage to Kylo earns me some form of hate or the other—but today felt more intense. It was a strange feeling as if everyone had known something quite important occurred while I remained unaware.

"Hey, Var," Jasmin called out, rushing to my side. "Did you hear about the meeting this morning?"
