Chapter 60

Olivia's POV:

I looked at Micah, who was on my lap, and sighed for a second time. She was still scared, even when I was right there with her.

After I had woken up feeling very well-rested and at peace, I took a shower and helped Micah prepare too because she was already awake before me.

When Alec had asked me to assist him last night, he later changed his mind and told me to go back. Dinner was awkward because, for some reason, no one was talking. Micah slept peacefully and woke up okay, but after a bath, she was acting up.

"Honey, are you okay?" I asked softly.

Before she could respond, the door opened and Alec walked in.

"Morning," I greeted with a smile on my face, then frowned when Micah buried her face in my chest.

I wrapped my arms around her and looked at Alec, who was standing in front of me.

"I'm so sorry about her. She is obviously shy," I lied.

He leaned in and kissed my cheek softly, then pulled back.

"Good morning," he greeted.

"Good morning," I answered.
