10. PIECE OF HEAVEN
They stood up one after the other, asking for me to excuse them but I could see it was in a mocking way. I had stood up for myself but why did it feel as if I had done something wrong. There was just this sinking feeling in me that I had went overboard, my head throbbing as I watched them all get up and walk out of there, leaving their plates full of food. I did not show all this grief I was feeling, my face indifferent, trying to pull a stoic mask over my face. The door closed with a bang, my head snapping to it, finding it closed then I stared right back at the table, finding everyone gone with just the man that had strangled me left. I huffed, standing up with my plate to get some food in me before I fainted. There was a lot of meat but I did get some eggs with a green salad and tuna. I sat down, feeling the eyes of the man on me, watching my every move. My head turned to stare at him. “I do

11. THEY WANT BLOOD
I spent the whole day there. The warriors trained day and night, they had shifts for training. The first batch got in from morning to take a break at lunch then back at it till the sun set with the other batch clogging in when the sun set. I found myself closing my book to watch them and it was truly a sight to see. My body itched to try all they were doing but I had to hold myself back for who knew how they would react. I was just counting down the hours, so excited to get to my room and do all I had observed. My photographic memory made it so clear for me when I recalled how something was done. The smile on my face was bright, seeing as if something was finally happening for me. I understood why most of the men were like beasts. Their training was demanding, it was as if they were training animals. My eyes went even wider as I watched with time passing. Some ran away and I heard they were running climb the mountain. In my head I was recalling that long mountai

12. HARD NOT TO REACT
I made my way down stairs, my hair floating behind me. I wore a pair of black jeans with a turtle neck rusty long-sleeved top and a pair of black sneakers. My face had some work done, putting some color into it with a nude color gloss that just tied the whole look perfectly. My bracelet was slipped on along with a necklace. “Good morning.” I greeted everyone I came across as they snickered with some just turning and making their way to wherever they were going. My book was in hand, a book on the deep politics of the werewolf community. I had never felt so educated in my whole life. I felt as if I was a library, just packed with information but sadly I could not share all the information with anyone. My hands pushed the doors wide open to the dining room. I was set on starting up a conversation, complementing some people, hoping my smile would dazzle some of them and they would see that I was not that bad. To

13. LET HER BURN
“She is a witch; she wants to kill us.” One shot. “She was laughing, she wants to kill us all in this pack. First Sandy, who is next, who is next?” Another came through, the crowd roaring. “She is a witch, look at her, what more evidence do you need!” “I say burn her!” “I did not do anything.” I kept saying over and over again, my voice drowned by all those that were screaming and shouting, shouting for my blood. “I did not do anything.” “Burn her, burn her!” “Burn her.” “I DID NOT DO ANYTHING!” I screamed with my ears left ringing where I was. I was held by two warriors, their nails digging in my skin for it to heal and break again. Their grip was firm, sure my skin would be left bruised an

14. DEATH
They threw me in my room and left me there. I woke up lying in bed with nothing but darkness filling the room. I knew there were guards outside my door, making sure I did not walk out of there. I just folded myself in a ball and lay there staring into space. My back was on fire. The skin had healed and closed back up but the pain was as if it was bare, as if someone was pouring salt on the wound and just setting it alight. The tears streamed down my face, falling on my pillows until it was just wet all over where my head lay. I did not belong in this world; I did not belong with these people and they would kill me. Run. I was tired. I fell in and out of consciousness, my body taking time to recover, feeling beyond exhausted. I felt so weak, could barely walk to the bathroom to take a shower but I did. Leggings were pulled on, the windows shut along with the curtains, the ro

15. REJECTED
Hours passed with more and more bodies fetched and all in all they made three large piles. The weeps never stopped, going lower only to pick back up. Those that fainted were taken away. I was curled on the window frame, silently crying and wiping my tears away, sure my skin was painted black with how much I had been crying. I did not want to go down and upset everyone even more, not that the guards at my door would let me. The beta had also turned at that point to his person form and it was good to see him but I hoped it was under better circumstances. When all the bodies were retrieved the king said a speech to the people as they wept even harder. He just made it all official that those people were really dead and that there was nothing they could do than send them away. To my utter horror, oil was poured on the bodies and they lit the fire tree bark to throw it on the bodies with them set alight. I had never seen anyth

16. STRIPPED OF DUTY
“Marking you was the worst mistake I have ever made in my life.” His voice was filled with nothing but venom, thick and lashing through my skin with my black tears falling on his skin. I watched him stare down at it to snicker, staring back into my eyes. “I did not do it. I did not do anything.” I plead with him, begging with my eyes, trying to find some compassion in him, digging deep but there was nothing with all of me breaking before him. I could not even talk from there, all the energy just drained out of my body, helpless before him, not knowing what could have provoked such behavior from him. All my fears stared back at me, them and more, losing the only hope I had left. “All the people that died in that battlefield are on you, their blood is all on you. I curse the day you stepped foot in this castle. You will never be my queen. I strip you of all your luna duties. You can rot in whatever corner you find

17. ON MY KNEES
“Where are we going?” I asked with my voice low, looking up at the beta. He was so tall and so muscular; he could just crush me with his bare hand. “Breakfast.” He simply said back as I stood where I was. The doors of the flying machine opened and I stood there, not moving. He walked out and took a couple of steps to stop and turn to me. I shook my head. I was not going there. That was where my problems began in this castle. What if they all stood up and left again? I was not doing it; I was not doing it. My hand was already pressing on all the buttons in the flying machine, the doors closing but the beta was fast, sticking his hand in with the doors re-opening. He strode in, no humor on his face as he grabbed my arm and pulled me out. “No please, I am not allowed there.” I shot out with the beta snickering. “This is your castle; you are

18. FAKE APOLOGIES
Brum led the way. He stepped up, walking behind the king’s chair to the luna’s chair which he pulled back for me. My cheeks were burning by then, giving him a respectful nod to walk around the chair and lower myself on it. The chair was pushed forward for me, making sure I was perfectly tucked into the table before going to the chair on the right side of the king. He pulled the seat back and sat on it. A plate was taken by Brum, filling it with so much meat I thought I would go dizzy. He did not put anything else, just meat. I swallowed hard, just sitting there frozen really for the king was just a few inches away from me. I could hear him breathe; I could feel his warmth seep into my skin. With just a shift of my arm, I could touch his skin. It was too much to bear, both heaven and hell to me as I closed my eyes to open them, trying to be strong but failing with my sanity slipping bit by bit. “Aren&rsq

19. TWIST OF THINGS
“Are you insane?” “He is your king Brum, not mine,” I stated as he dragged me out of the dining room. “Are you hearing yourself?” “Yes Brum, can I just be bitter in peace please, let me be bitter to the man who is just peeling my heart apart with each day I see him. Can I have that?” I asked turning to stare at him. “Me being a good luna doesn’t mean I have to kiss his ass.” I pointed out the facts as I turned, walking to the front door. I had not been outside in a long time, I missed it. “He will kill you.” The beta stated. “So be it.” I shot back at him. “This is stupidity.” “I call it freedom,” I said back with the beta shaking his head. “What have I done.” He cried out,
