Chapter twenty four

Caleb’s POV

Cooped up from staying indoors all the time, I glanced at my old, broken wristwatch once again annoyed that just one minute had passed from the last time I looked at it.

The urge to get up and pace around was strong but I'd been doing that for the past one hour, and besides the space was too small for someone of my size. There was barely enough room to move around, but I guess I should be grateful. I had slept in worse places.

Where was Daniel?

I thought I'd gotten used to being alone but these past few months with Daniel has shown me that I've missed having company around. Now, I get antsy anytime he's away for too long.

I understand that it was a necessary evil but that didn't mean I was comfortable with it.

I had even suggested going out and looking around but he shut that suggestion down faster than I could blink.

His reasons did make sense but I was jumpy letting him go out by himself without help. Even though he wasn't under my pack, I felt a need to protect him. I l
