Chapter 56

Debby's POV:

I quickly rushed to the balcony when I heard the sound of a car approaching.

"Great, you're back," I whispered to myself, then rushed to the entrance and walked out of the house.

I stood a few meters away from where Alec had parked and waited patiently for him to step down. When he did, I waved at him with a smile, but the smile vanished when he ignored me and went around the car to open the front passenger door.

Instantly, a familiar scent hit my nose. I slowly moved closer, astonished.

Did he really kidnap the poor lady, as I had suggested? If so, then she was obviously frightened.

He leaned in as I waited patiently for her to come out. When he turned with her in his arms, I frowned deeply. Her breathing was shallow; she was either unconscious or sleeping.

"Did you knock her out?" I asked, raising my voice.

"Quiet!" He commanded in a low growl.

"She's sleeping," he answered in a low tone, then walked past me as I slowly followed behind.
