Ethan’s POV

When we got Katherine safely out of Shadow's territory, I was ready to collect my dues from Caleb before I was hit without another shocker.

I had assigned a different group of men to guard Roy and his nanny, Sheila, so when I saw the leader in charge, Gordon rush towards me the moment we touched base, I knew there was a problem.

"Sir, I-" I shut him up, grabbed him by the arm, and dragged him away from where I was. The walls had ears and with Caleb and his men around, I didn't want this information falling into the wrong hands.

I found an empty room and matched him inside, locking the door firmly behind us. I walked to the center of the room and turned back to face Gordon, regarding him closely. "What happened?"

The man was sweating bullets, thinking I wanted to harm him...and I might, after I'd heard what he had to say, of course.
