Chapter seventeen

Caleb’s POV

I kick at my mask in anger, watching forlornly as it rolls on the ground gathering dust.

I looked again in the direction Katherine took off in, and every cell in my body was protesting against me, urging me to go after her...

I didn't dare to think…

Not after I've experienced the level of hate she has for me. The pain wafting off her was more than enough to throw me on my ass ..it was that palpable.

I turned to face Daniel who had now removed his mask, and was staring at me with an unreadable expression on his face.

"What?" I say.

"What in the goddess name did you do to that woman?" He asked me and I looked away.

"It's none of your business," I mutter. Like a bee to honey, I couldn't help but look in the direction Katherine went again.

Daniel kept silent after that even though I knew he had more things to say. "So what do we do now?" He says instead, wisely closing down that topic.

"I don't know." I finger my chin. "She knows we're here and could easily expose us to them i
