Chapter 10

Amelia’s POV

After the intense conversation I had with Alpha Damian I was expecting him to do what he wanted with me just as he had claimed but he slept off and I was very sure that Luther must have also fallen asleep.

After making sure Alpha Damian was asleep I stood up quietly and tipped toed to the closet. I opened the closet to find Luther already fast asleep and even snoring, he squeezed himself tightly to a corner so he wouldn't by mistake push it open.

I smiled at his figure as he even looked more charming and cute in his sleeping posture,I knew I couldn’t bring him out no matter hat so I a closed the closet tightly making sure it won’t open.

I returned to the bed and after making sure Alpha Damian was still asleep I joined him and shut my eyes to sleep.

The next morning I woke up and Alpha Damian wasn’t beside me, that didn’t bother me much as my main concern was Luther.

I jumped up from my bed and rushed to the closet opening it widely and to my surprise Luther was also gone, I felt a bit frightened as I wondered what could have possibly happened and how was he able to sneak out? Or did Alpha Damian find him?

I took my bath immediately and after putting on a befitting dress I rushed out of the room and directly to the dining room only to find Alpha Damian and Luther going through some files Ugh the beta also beside them, the atmosphere also seemed a bit cool aching meant nothing happened, which meant that Luther must have sneaked out from the closet while we were both sleeping.

“Amelia, why are you here?” Alpha Damian asked with a serious expression, I guess he was back to his cold self again.

“I thought breakfast would be served here.” I replied innocently.

“My brides don’t eat with me but since you are already here, have a seat and join in the breakfast.” Alpha Damian said to me as I smiled before joining them and Luther just stared at me in shock like Alpha Damian had never said anything like this to his brides.

“Thank you alpha.” I said with gladness as the maid soon filled the table with different delicacies that I had ever seen, not even the alpha of my pack ate this kind of meal. I smiled with gladness at how savory the breakfast was.

But the maids made tha food very difficult to pass through my throat as they continued to give me a bad stare. But I wasn’t going to mind their stares, whenever I looked up at Luther I noticed he was always smiling at me and Alpha Damian looked back at Luther with a weird grin.

After the breakfast, Alpha Damian just stomped out of the dining room leaving me alone with Luther, “thank you so much for yesterday.” Luther whispered to me as I turned around to see the maids trying to figure out what he said and mostly why he was thanking me so I didn’t bother replying him as he had also understand that I didn’t want anyone to know about what happen I just hoped in my mind that no one saw him come out of my room.

I soon finished with my dessert and walked out of the room but I was soon attacked by Lady Rosa who dragged me harshly to the kitchen where the other brides were all doing one chores or another.

“Why am I here?“ I asked in confusion as all the maid scoffed and even the brides also laughed at my question as it was only Lucy who wasn’t doing a much complicated work.

“You are to join them in the chores.” Lady Rosa said to me like I am someone she didn’t know, she spoke to me with so much aggression.

“You offended the alpha and this is your punishment for a week or should I say till he decides to forgive you.” Lady Rosa said to me with disgust.

“I did not offend the king, in short the king just invited me to have breakfast with him and now this, let me talk to him at least.” I pleaded but she scoffed pushing me to the floor aggressively as I fell flat to the ground.

“Just because you made a mistake stepping into his dining room doesn’t mean he would pity you or make you an exception to the punishment he gives us each time we disobey his orders or do something that makes him hate us…too bad it didn’t take long for you to join the red card.” Lucy said to me with a loud chuckle as she continued her chore.

I stood up and picked up the tools Lady Rosa threw at me at first and walked up to the dirty spot at the far corner and slowly began to scrub, I stared down at my dress as it as fully stained with dirt after I fell to the ground.. I held in the tears that were begging to pour out of my eyes.

I silently continued to scrub the wall while the other brides juts continued to discuss mostly about me while they did their chores.

It was soon lunch time as the other brides rushed out including Lucy and lady Rosa but I was just too occupied to care about the lunch, and even though they called for me to join then before the food finished I only nodded and juts continued my scrubbing, I thought Alpha Damian had a change of heart towards me but I guess he just needed someone to talk to and after that I wasn’t useful in anything else than that.

“You shouldn’t be scrubbing the floor like that,Amelia.” Luther said from behind me as I came to realize what had caused the rift between me and Alpha Damian.
