Chapter 13

Amelia’s POV

The brides all stood up except Lucy as they turned towards Lucy. I rolled my subconsciously to the fact that they were still ready to continue serving Lucy who clearly had nothing to offer. I was about to take my seat on the vacant bed when I heard them finally speak up.

“We don’t think you might favor us anymore Lucy, you aren’t even recognized by the king.” Susan began making me smirk.

“And he hasn’t even been in your room for a few months, even though he hates me for some reason he still came to me for comfort than he comes to you.” Another bride said while I tried to hold in my laughter.

“We don’t want to lose in anyway so we would just go with Amelia for the meantime.” Susan said before leaving Lucy’s presence as I could see her clinching to her hands tightly as they all walked towards me.

“We are sorry for the way we treated you earlier.” Susan said with a sad expression, I really didn’t want to forgive them as I still have a scar to remind me of what happened.

“It’s alright, I knew you all had your reasons and besides you were being led astray by Lucy… don’t you guys all wonder why you have never been close to the alpha and she has been the left hand bride to the Alpha for five good years.” I said to them as Susan's eyes widened in realization.

“You just pulled the words out of my mouth.” Susan said as she rushed to take a seat close to me…the others soon joined to sit around me and I gave Lucy a last grin before clearing my throat ready to clarify some words to them.

“First, she always forces the privilege on herself and she doesn’t give you guys a chance for the king to recognize you all because she makes you look so shabby and lame while she is all shining.” I said

“I wondered why the king would make you his right hand queen just because you smiled at him .” Susan said, making me chuckle.

“You are all smart but yet they made you all seem so dumb.” I replied sarcastically at the same time making it obvious I was referring to Lucy. Lucy stood up quickly and rushed up to me but I didn’t bother to move as I was aware she was coming to slap me and I wasn’t going to avoid it.

She raised her hand to hit me but Susan stopped her holding her hand tightly,

“You have done enough damage and you can’t just do whatever you want here anymore, you are no longer our leader so deal with that.” Susan said while all I did was sit calmly, few of the other brides also stood up to support their word…this was it while Damian treated me like trash I would continue to move higher till I became just as important as a Luna in this palace.

“Did you all just try to stop me!!” Lucy yelled, hoping they would change their mind.

As Lucy stood there, seething with anger, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. The other brides had finally seen through her manipulation and were standing up for themselves. It was a small victory, but it gave me hope.

"Lucy, you can threaten us all you want, but we're done following your lead," Susan spoke up, her voice filled with determination. The other brides nodded in agreement, their expressions hardened.

Lucy scoffed, trying to regain control of the situation. "You think you can just turn against me? I've been the alpha's favorite for years. He won't let you get away with this."

I couldn't help but chuckle at her desperate attempt to regain her power. "Lucy, the only reason the alpha favored you was because you made sure the rest of us looked bad. But now that we see through your tricks, things are going to change."

The other brides looked at me, curiosity and hope in their eyes. They wanted to believe that there was a way out of this miserable situation, and I was determined to show them.

"I promise you all, if you stay by my side, I will make sure you are recognized by the alpha. We can work together to create a better life for ourselves," I said, my voice filled with conviction.

"But what about Lucy? She won't just give up her position," one of the brides voiced her concern.

I smiled, feeling a surge of confidence. "Don't worry, we'll handle Lucy. Together, we are stronger than her. And once we gain the alpha's trust and respect, she won't be able to stand in our way."

The other brides exchanged glances, contemplating the offer. They had seen how Lucy's reign had brought them nothing but misery and neglect. Now, they had a chance to change their fate.

Finally, one by one, they nodded in agreement. "We're with you, Amelia. Let's bring down Lucy and make our own path in this palace."

“You all are making a huge mistake, are you forgetting that she is the reason why the alpha threw us here because she is so disobedient.” Lucy said trying to change the topic but it was already clearly too late for that.

“You still trust her right, If she is really going t make changes than I did, why don’t she begin by letting you all out of this cell quicker than we have ever been set free.” Lucy said and this time I had no way to object or claim them.

The brides all turned to me awaiting for my answer while I sat there in confusion to what I could possibly do.

“You see, she is no difference from me.” Lucy said few minutes after me not saying anything.

“That wont be a problem, I would make sure you all leave this cell earlier than expected that’s a promise.”
