Shadow’s POV The whole ground shook underneath my feet and men and women started to scream aloud in fright. I hung on to the nearest table to steady me. Once I gained my balance, I powered through and tried walking to the other side of the room despite the turbulence but suddenly the window exploded into a million bits halfway there. The screaming intensified and I crashed to the floor, something heavy slamming into the sides of my head. The pain was disorienting, and I lost my balance for several seconds, but I quickly got back up. I felt a thick liquid slide down my face, and I distractedly touched it, bringing my fingers down so I saw that it was blood despite being unable to take my eyes off the sight before me. A line of people was trying to sneak out on the ground and there was a helicopter waiting to take off a couple of feet away. I recognized the wild brown hair of the woman and I realized that it was Katherine! She was escaping before my very eyes!! I growled and sto
Caleb’s POV I couldn't go back on my word now. Ethan came at me with the blade, but I raised my cuffed wrists at him. "You'll have to take this off." He thinks about it for a second before he grudgingly nods at the man to take it off from me. He removes a key from the strap on his waistband and comes towards me. I hold still while he unlocks mine and for a second, I want to ask they also remove Daniel's but then I have to make them trust us enough to let us roam around unarmed. The cuffs fall from my wrists to the floor, and I take a step forward, bringing out my palm so Ethan can place the hilt in it. He eyes me warily before carefully dropping it, probably waiting for me to flip. "Do you have a cup or bowl or something?" I asked him, the sharp edge of the blade hovering over my palm. With a flick of Ethan's hand, the man goes deeper into the office, probably a secret compartment that we can't see, and brings out a clear crystal bowl. He placed it on the desk, and I walked over
Caleb’s POVWe landed safely on the strip a couple of distance away from Shadow's mansion and I as well as the man directed to go rescue Kathrine jumped down first, while the rest were to follow soon after.Ethan said he was coming with us, or else the mission was canceled without him, so we grudgingly accepted."Good luck, man." Daniel bumps me on the back as I reach for my back before leaving and I bump him too, wishing him the same. The chopper went back and flew away, presumably to land in a more secure spot while they waited for us. I had to give a signal once we had success in retrieving Katherine, then they could attack and use the cover to escape. All in all, it seemed like a good plan, but one teeny, tiny mistake could make it blow all up in our face."Where is the map?" I gestured to the guy who was assigned to me to produce the layout of where Ethan guessed Katherine could be held."I have it. It says that Katherine should be held here." He points to a dot on the map."Let'
Freya’s POV"Hello?!" I yelled into the empty room and my words echoed loudly in the wide space.Sometimes, I didn't even know why I even attempted when it wasn't like there was anyone who would respond to me.The chains jangled when I moved, but still held me in place, not allowing me to move an inch. When I did move, it cut into my wrists.*Is anyone there?!" In response, I heard the scuffle of boots around where I was, and my heart skipped a beat. I stayed still and waited for the door to open, while I was just starting to think about my next move. I wrapped the handle of the chains around my fingers, ready to swing it away which was a weapon.I was surprised that my calls were even answered since it's been over three weeks since I was thrown down here, apparently, my captors had forgotten about me.A lean, blond-haired guy opened the door and stepped in there, and was shooting angry looks from his eyes at me. "What the hell is wrong with you? Why all the yelling?!"I pretended to
Freya’s POVTwo weeks after her escape…"Is this it?" I squinted at the gods forsaken building that stood tall."Yes ma'am." The man who took me here going by Gordon eagerly nodded his head up and down. I met him a week later. My plan was fully hatched, and I was ready to implement it. Turns out that he was the perfect person for the job, as he knew every nook and cranny of the silver Moon pack intimately and he would be able to get me to where I needed."Are you sure?" I eyed him and the building respectively, not ready to let go of this money especially if it was false news.Gordon had asked for a ridiculous sum which to him was justified since he was putting his life on the line here, and I grudgingly accepted."What the hell do you mean, lady?" He starts to fume, his stocky build getting more pumped up. "You think I'm gonna rip you, I'm not one of those niggas, bitch!"I whirled around and moved close to him. "Don't ever call me bitch again!" I growled, my wolf rising to the surfa
Katherine’s POVThe sound of voices echoing woke me up from my slumber. It was all blurry at first, then everything came into focus. I spotted Caleb first, then Daniel, his friend, and a couple of other people in the room. Someone turned and left the room and for a moment I thought it was Ethan but when I shook my head slightly, I didn't see anyone. My head movement however let the others know that I was now awake. "She's awake!" Someone squeals and Caleb rushes towards me, worry etched into the lines on his forehead."Baby, are you okay?" He says and places his hands on my forearms. I was just about to reassure him when the pressure of his fingers on my body made me scream out loud, pain rocketing through my body. That was when I discovered that every inch of my body was in pain and even a slight movement made it even worse so I stopped moving my body."I'm sorry!" Caleb instantly removes his hands and the pressure abates causing the pain to reduce. I feel terrible for making him worr
Ethan’s POVWhen we got Katherine safely out of Shadow's territory, I was ready to collect my dues from Caleb before I was hit without another shocker.I had assigned a different group of men to guard Roy and his nanny, Sheila, so when I saw the leader in charge, Gordon rush towards me the moment we touched base, I knew there was a problem."Sir, I-" I shut him up, grabbed him by the arm, and dragged him away from where I was. The walls had ears and with Caleb and his men around, I didn't want this information falling into the wrong hands.I found an empty room and matched him inside, locking the door firmly behind us. I walked to the center of the room and turned back to face Gordon, regarding him closely. "What happened?"The man was sweating bullets, thinking I wanted to harm him...and I might, after I'd heard what he had to say, of course."U-uh s-sir, I can explain. I don't know how it happened or how they found it but- um, sir…" his blubbering was getting me annoyed as we haven'
Katherine’s POV"Hey, Katherine!" Doctor Mallory, who insists I should just call her Mallory, waltzes into my room with a wide smile and a bag of chocolates in the other."Hi!!" I responded just as eagerly as dropped the boxes of chocolate on a nearby table, craning my neck to see what was inside. "Whatchu got there?!"She gives me a secretive smile, hanging her stethoscope around her neck. "Nothing you need to see." She says coyly and goes about with her exams, pretending to ignore me.I sit back down on my mound of pillows with a huff, folding my hands beneath my breasts. "Really? You're going to do this to me?" When she continued ignoring me, I could a faint hint of a smile peeking through from her otherwise serious expression. "You know torturing a bedridden pregnant woman with a bag of chocolates far from reach is borderline wickedness, right?" I groaned, my mouth watering the longer I stared at the box."Ha! So you're going to bring out the pregnancy card?" She breaks her silenc
