Chapter forty-six

Caleb’s POV

"Harder! Push harder!!" I shout but Daniel just hits me. "Oomphf! What was that for?" I groused.

"You're making a whole lot of noise! If they don't catch us, then surely your noisemaking will let them know that we're here." He grumbles, raising a valid point so I wisely shut up. He grunts and gives me the extra boost I needed to get over the ledge. I groaned and slapped my hands on the concrete, holding on firmly so I didn't lose my grasp on the wall. I have puff and grunt until I can swing one leg over and I flop to the ground. I take a second breather and then I lean over the ledge, looking for Daniel but I don't see him.

"Daniel!" I hissed sharply, frantically searching around with my eyes but he was nowhere to be seen.

That was until he popped his head out from the corner. "What is it?"

"Geez, do you want to scare me to death?" I whisper yell. "I was looking for you."

"I thought I saw something." He shook his head to remain focused. He prepared to stand on the led
