Chapter thirty-eight

Katherine’s POV

I heard pounding...but it sounded far away, a bit distant.

My eyelids fluttered open, and I stared through blurry vision at the ceiling, trying to figure out where I was.

The pounding came again, even harder and louder. I moaned and flung a hand over my forehead trying to block out the noise, wondering who the hell it was.

I give the person points though for being consistent when the sound comes again, and I struggle to sit up on the bed.

Sunlight was streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows that almost blinded me when I sat up.

That was when I noticed I was naked. The bedsheet fell from my chest, baring my girls out to the public. Immediately, I snatched up the sheets and it was at that same time that the door flew open.

"Caleb!!" Daniel yelled as he stormed inside.

My eyes bulged from their socket when Daniel came barreling into the room and top speed, his eyes going as wide as saucers when he saw me. I closed my eyes in mortification quickly, only peeking w
